Iris Recognition System
Panasonic Authenticam™, enabled with unique Private ID™ iris recognition technology from Iridian Technologies, delivers unrivaled accuracy in authentication for information access solutions. It includes I/O Software's SecureSuite™ software to allow multiple users to securely access PCs, files, folders, applications and password banks. The Panasonic Authenticam addresses the core issues of helping an organization diminish or eliminate the costs of password management, reduce the risks of privilege and policy management and increase the security of a private key. In addition to providing security for information access applications, the camera can be used for video conferencing and online collaboration.
The first product resulting from Panasonic's alliance with Iridian is Panasonic Authenticam™. Panasonic Authenticam™ employs Iridian Technologies' iris recognition technology for information access applications, such as network access and credit card authorisation. Panasonic Authenticam comes bundled with an iris recognition software program called Private ID™ for stand-alone applications on individual computers. Unlike other forms of biometrics such as fingerprint and hand scanners, iris recognition products such as the Panasonic Authenticam do not require any contact or invasive procedures for identification.
